DDOではクライアントのダウンロードにPando Media BoosterというP2Pソフトを使用しています。
ダウンロードのはじめにまずこのアプリケーションを半自動的にインストールしてそれからクライアントをDLする仕組みなのですが、このPando Media Boosterがかなりの曲者で、DL終了後も他者とのデータ共有のため大量のデータのアップロードを行い続けます。レジストリでスタートアップに登録され、ゲームをしていようがいまいが水面下で延々とデータのアップロードを続けるのです（タスクマネージャーのプロセスには記載されず、パフォーマンス⇒リソースモニターで確認しないとわからないようになっているので厄介です。おまけに切っても切ってもすぐ復活します）。
